UFC Fight Night will take place in Abu Dhabi in August

The last time the UFCworld tournament was held in the capital of the UAE in the fall of 2023. Then the main event of the evening was the fight between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski. Makhachev knocked out his opponent in the first round. The organizers have not yet announced the main and additional cards. But all the fights in the UAE take place with a stellar line-up of participants, so there is no doubt that this will be the case in August. 

At the moment, the full list of athletes invited to the competition has not yet been announced, but a wide range of participants is expected. Thus, previously the opposing sides in the battles were Khamzat Chimaev, Kamaru Usman, Magomed Ankalaev, Johnny Walker, Said Nurmagomedov, Muin Gufurov, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Israel Adesanya and other famous fighters. 

The famous promotion has been coming to the UAE regularly for the 5th year in a row. Moreover, every time a powerful card gathers thousands of spectators in the hall and a multi-million television or online audience. Moreover, Russians always participate in title fights. 

In 2019, the UFC and the UAE authorities entered into an agreement. In accordance with it, the American promotion is obliged to hold one championship fight annually. Local residents are not indifferent to MMA, and most importantly – tourists for whom fighting has become another form of entertainment along with shopping, exhibitions and concerts. 

In 2021, the first fight was hosted by the now legendary Etihad Arena. 

In 2024, UFC and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism have extended their partnership. Now the promotion is obliged to hold additional competitions in the Emirates called “Fight Night”. The agreement is valid until 2028, which means that MMA connoisseurs will see many exciting fights at the Etihad Arena.
