As a coach, Abdulmanap succeeded in educating sports sambo athletes.

In 1992, his younger brother Nurmagomed Nurmagomedov became the world champion in sports sambo thanks to the hard work of coaching Abdulmanap.

In total, during his career, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov brought up 18 world champions. In 2019, he was listed in the Russian Book of Records as the coach who trained the largest number of combat sambo champions.

He was also a freestyle wrestling coach and trained such outstanding athletes as Magomedkhan Kaziev, Saidbek Darbishchev, Khasan Magomedov, Khadzhimurat Mutalimov, Dabadan Omarov, Magomedrasul Aliyev.

In martial arts, he trained many outstanding athletes, including Ibragim Magomedov, Asildar Abdulkhamidov, Nazir Mammadaliyev, Rustam Khabilov, Makasharip Makasharipov, Magomedrasul Khasbulaev, Abdurakhman Nurmagomedov, Shahban Machiev and others. Almost all of the above are champions and prize-winners of world and international championships.

But, of course, the main coaching project of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov was his own son Khabib, whom he made the famous reigning UFC lightweight champion.
